A Chattanooga native with 16 years experience in adult care-giving is opening a day center in Highland Park.
The Heart Connection Adult Day Care Center, owned and operated by Tonita Jenkins, will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, Nov. 29, and be providing its first day of care-giving services on Monday. The day care center is located inside the Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center at St. Andrews, 1918 Union Ave., Chattanooga TN 37404.
“I am so excited to welcome the Highland Park community and the Greater Chattanooga area, and surrounding counties,” Jenkins said. “I look forward to being a source of relief to families who are their loved ones’ primary caregivers. We we will assist with activities of daily living and provide a great social environment with consistent supervision.”
Heart Connection will be open 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Services are provided to those ages 18 and older who require supervision or assistance with “Activities of Daily Living.” These services are meant to complement the care received at home.
Those attending the day care will be provided a continental breakfast and lunch. In addition, medication reminders, pet therapy, and the chance to socialize with others are some benefits provided by the day care. There will be Games, contests, arts and crafts, and clubs to fit almost everyone’s interests. These range from the Glam Squad for beauty and fashion to a Book Club.
The grand opening celebration is Sunday, 2 pm to 5 pm, and will be an opportunity to meet staff, enjoy refreshments and entertainment, and check out the new facility.
