We started out the new year with the end of the world at Mercy Junction. Our Winter Quarter worship theme is “A Different Revelation” and January is focused on “End Times.”
Join us as we finish out this apocalyptic time of study and reflection.
During our Sunday evening worship service, The Blessing, and the Wednesday night Bible Study, Pastor Brian Merritt talks about a realistic, scientific and affirming, social justice understanding, of the end with a focus on the salvation of the world.
The Blessing is at 5 pm on Sundays, Jan. 24 and Jan. 31. Bible Study will be on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7 pm.
Our Thursday Talks: Activists’ Circle conversations have focused on the future. We’re dreaming and imagining the “world as it should be” in place of the “world as it is.” The final Thursday Talk of January will be on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 pm.
And, our interfaith The People’s Sermon gatherings have focused on what other religions and people across different times and religions have predicted as “the end of the world.” We’ll finish this out on Saturday, Jan. 30 when we look at the “end time” prophesies of the indigenous people of North America.
Each gathering includes a vegan potluck meal.
Come out and join us as we talk about the end and imagine a better future.
