Holy Heretic Daily Devotional: July 9-Be Still

Our Lady

Compiled by Holy Heretic Connie Foster

“Harken unto this O Job; stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.” — Job 37:14

The reason God may never speak to us is because we are never quiet. Our minds are never still. We have to reserve time to be alone with God. God wants to spend time with us. God wants us to “Pause.” As God told Job, “Be quiet, have some alone time, learn solitude so I can talk to you.” God speaks to people who take the time to listen, not just for a day, but regularly. This is called quiet time and with this time we can see the wondrous works of God.

Today’s Action: Pause. Be still.

Sharing: Tell us about how you paused. How did being still change your day?
