HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL- JULY 28, 2016-BE STILL
Compiled by Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center Council Member Maddie Nix
“Being still does not mean don’t move. It means move in peace.” – E’yen A. Gardner
In the last few weeks I have tried to have stillness in a chaotic world. I have been able to relax some but relaxing can be very hard and stressful within itself. Sitting still can be restful as can walking about. My experience with Pokemon Go is that a lot of people are taking it way too serious when they should just be enjoying it. Find something you can do that is relaxing and keep at it even if you have to work at just doing it for enjoyment in the beginning.
Today’s Action: Think about something from your past that gave you joy, but that you have gradually stopped doing simply because you “don’t have time.” Did you once like to go for a long walk after dinner? Lose yourself in a novel for a couple hours? Take an afternoon nap? Today, make time for one of those activities that gives you joy.
Sharing: What was your joyful activity?
