“In solitude the mind gains strength and learns to lean upon itself.” — Laurence Sterne

Solitude is a time to set apart from the rush, noise and anxiety of the world. Solitude is a time to spend with God, free from the distractions of life. There are many accounts in the Bible of Jesus needing and finding Solitude. When he was up against his hardest task, the Crucifixion, he didn’t just toughen up and get through it. He spent time alone in the Garden of Gethsemane. He needed solitude to accomplish his purpose here on earth and so do we.
