HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL- Aug. 13, 2016-SOLITUDE
Compiled by Holy Heretic Connie Foster
“As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler: solitude will not be solitude; poverty will not be poverty nor weakness, weakness.” — Henry David Thoreau
To find solitude we sometimes have to simplify our life. I for sure need to simplify. Simplify means plain, easy not complicated or complex. If we fill our schedules with things that have nothing to do with our purpose, if they don’t bring us closer to our goals, then we run around in chaos. It all comes down to the choices we make based on our willingness to put our priorities in order. We can then be ready to fill our time with what matters most, our relationship with God, family and friends and find some time for yourself.
Today’s Action: Organize your schedule and then choose to simplify your home. Do what you have been meaning to do. Take a walk in the woods. Laugh with your family. Spend some quiet time alone.
Sharing: We would love to hear how you have organized and simplified and if it has helped you to have some time for yourself. Please comment on our Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/HolyHereticZine
