HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL- Aug. 21, 2016-SOLITUDE
Compiled by Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center Director Beth Foster
“Solitude was my only consolation — deep, dark, deathlike solitude.” — Mary Shelley
Outside of its ability to help us prepare ourselves spiritually, to know ourselves better, solitude can also be a blessed reprieve from the demands and pains of the outside world — especially for those of us who are introverts. For me, at the end of a bad day, there is no better solance than being alone.
Today’s Action: Imagine yourself in the deep, dark, deathlike solitude of a cocoon. Imagine the thoughts you might have, the dreams you might dream, in this safe and lonely place. How will you be changed when you emerge.
Sharing: How was the cocoon for you. Please comment on our Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/HolyHereticZine
