HOLY HERETICS DEVOTIONAL-Sept. 6, 2016-Acceptance
Compiled by Mercy Junction Pastor Rev. Brian Merritt
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.” — Matthew 7:1
How many times have we been told these words erroneously? People using this text to stop critical thinking? There is a qualitative spiritual difference in judging someone and having judgement. While we must always practice acceptance, when it comes to injustices we are called spiritually to exercise judgement. This means not accepting injustices is all right.
Today’s Action: Go through a news feed or a newspaper. What stories prick at your conscience? Is there an injustice? What would be the solution to that injustice?
Sharing: We would love to hear about the articles the stories that caused you to stop and why they caught your attention. Please comment on our Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/HolyHereticZine
