Fellowship of Heretics Daily Devotional: October 4, 2016 — I was sick, and you cared for me

Compiled by Mercy Junction Pastor, Brian Merritt

“He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Luke 10:2

The radical harvest is before us. Salvation is nigh. Do we really believe this? Too often we settle for much less than the justice and peace a sick society desires. Salvation will bring about wholeness. This means that we can have faith that God wants us to work toward the end to starvation, drought, exploitative capitalism, violence, war, cancer, homophobia, sexism, racism, classism and ableism. We are sure that our God want each and everyone of these unjust/sick systems defeated.

We have a great Spirit leading us forward, it is the Spirit of Christ. If God be for us, then who can be against us?

Today’s Action: Eat an apple. Savor it’s flavor. Try to focus on every bite and relish each and every morsel.

Sharing: How did it feel to focus on your food? We would love to have you share it on our Fellowship of Heretic’s Facebook page. https://m.facebook.com/HolyHereticZine
