Fellowship of Heretics Daily Devotional: October 8, 2016 — I was sick, and you cared for me

HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL- Oct. 8, 2016-I WAS SICK, AND YOU CARED FOR ME

Compiled by Holy Heretic Connie Foster

“The soul is healed by being with children.” — Fyodor Dostoevsky Devotional

This quote also reminds me of what Jesus said, “Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the Kingdom of God.” –Luke 18:15-16

Jesus said children are important.

They are our future.

They deserve the best.

Parents were bringing infants to Jesus so that He would touch them, that He would lay His hands on them and pray and bless them. The disciples did not feel Jesus should be bothered by these “little ones.” Perhaps they thought that their Lord had more important things to do than bless infants. But Jesus would not exclude the children and their parents from his presence. He loved the parents, who in faith brought their “little ones” to Him for a blessing. And He loved the children and wished to bless them. It was a joy to be with the children. God has given us the honor of taking care of His “little one” and we must work and be that advocate to provide health care, food, clothes, shelter and love to these precious ones that Jesus has said, “for of such is the Kingdom of God.” We will have to be the voice to the government and leaders for our “little ones” just as Jesus was to the disciples.

Today’s Action: Take action today and be the voice for a child.
