Compiled by Holy Heretic Connie Foster

“As my suffering mounted, I soon realized that there were two ways in which I could respond to my situation either to react with bitterness or seek to transform the suffering into a creative force. I decided to follow the latter course.” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I once heard someone who was going through heartbreak say, “It’s not how you get knocked to your knees, it’s how you get back up.” I have found that to be true in my own life so many times. Do we just give up or do we use that heartbreak and suffering to grow and help others who are broken.

Today’s Action: Find a way to turn your own heartache and suffering into helping someone else deal with struggles that you have experienced.

Today’s Sharing: Did you find a way to turn your heartache into help for another? Share your stories on our Facebook page at facebook.com/holyhereticzine
