Chattanooga Solidarity March for Standing Rock, to stop the Dakota Access Pipe Line, is Sunday, Nov. 13 at 2 pm, departing Renaissance Park.
We are also collecting donations for the Southeast to Standing Rock Supply Mission that will depart Monday to take much needed resources to the water defenders.
Supplies being delivered consist of firewood as well as other requested items which the Sacred Stone Camp, the front lines of the opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline, at Standing Rock has requested. For a complete list of items requested by the Sacred Stone Camp, please visit their website at http://sacredstonecamp.org/.
If you live in or near the Chattanooga area, you may bring donated items to Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center, 1918 Union Ave. until 5:30 today (Wednesday, Nov. 9), between 2 pm and 8 pm tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 10), or from 2 pm to 6 pm on Saturday. If you live in the Northeast Alabama area, you may contact Jack Sawyer at (256) 334-0933 to arrange for items to be picked up. Or you may bring items to the march on Sunday.
Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center will also accept cash or check donations to help fund the trip and will pass those funds directly on to those who will be traveling.
