Fellowship of Heretics Daily Devotional: November 19, 2016 — I was in Prison and You Visited Me

Compiled by Holy Heretic Connie Foster

“Accept one another then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” — Romans 15:7

We have only two choices, accept people or reject them. When you realize this it may change the way we treat people. When we criticize or condemn people we are portraying that they are not good enough for us and that we don’t like them the way they are.

But what if they are not perfect? Are we? What if they don’t believe everything we believe? Should we reject people when they still have something to learn? Aren’t we all still learning?

We may not like anything about another person, but if they are a human being you must acknowledge that God loves them, and God rejects no one. Our job is to love and help each other. Remember that God made people to be different. So don’t expect everyone to be exactly like you.

Today’s Action: Who do you find it hardest to accept? Find a way today to show acceptance to those who it is the hardest for you to love and accept.

Today’s Sharing: Share with us when someone has accepted you when you felt you didn’t deserve acceptance. Share your stories on our Facebook page at facebook.com/holyhereticzine
