HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL-Nov. 20, 2016-I WAS IN PRISON AND YOU VISITED ME

Compiled by Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center Director Beth Foster

“Cage an eagle and it will bite at the wires, be they of iron or of gold.” — Henrik Ibsen, The Vikings of Helgeland

In the last week, I’ve been thinking a lot about resistance, about the importance of resistance to injustice, especially at a time when it feels as if a wave of injustice is about to swallow up our country, especially at a time when resistance may come with higher risks and greater consequences than they have in recent years.

Today’s Action: Find one way, small though it may be, to resist injustice in some way. Find a way today to show acceptance to those who it is the hardest for you to love and accept.

Today’s Sharing: How did you resist? Share your stories on our Facebook page at facebook.com/holyhereticzine

** Don’t forget your gratitude journal at the back of your print edition of Holy Heretic!
