HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL-Dec. 3, 2016-THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR THEM IN THE INN

Compiled by Holy Heretic Connie Foster

“You can spend the money on new housing for poor people and the homeless, or you can spend it on a football stadium or a golf course.” — Jello Biafra

“Foxes have dens and birds have nests but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.” (Matthew 8:20) Jesus didn’t have a home. The Bible doesn’t mention him owning any property. Because Jesus didn’t own anything, he didn’t have anything to bog him down. He spent all his time helping others, doing good for others, and helping them have a better life. Possessions can clutter focus, cause stress, cause us to just want more and more. We are not commanded to be homeless but we are commanded to care for the poor. We can all share because there will always be people who have less than us.

Today’s Action: Foxes have dens and birds have nests … Spend a few minutes today thinking about the different kinds of shelters that are used by different animals. Why is each specially suited to giving that particular animal safety, comfort and rest.

Today’s Sharing: What kinds of animal homes did you think about? Share your stories on our Facebook page at facebook.com/holyhereticzine
