HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL-Dec. 6, 2016-THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR THEM IN THE INN

Compiled by Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center Director Beth Foster

When I see the cradle rocking
What is it that I see?
I see a rood on the hilltop
Of Calvary.

Today’s Action: Imagine all the many creatures who might have called the stable where Joseph and Mary found refuge, where Jesus born, home. There were undoubtedly birds who nested in the rafters, and rodents who hid in the straw. There were the typical farm animals, perhaps a dog and cat … Who else might have been there? What did home look like to these non-humans? What did they see that night and in the days to follow?

Today’s Sharing: We’d love to hear about your reflections on the many creatures who called that stable home. Share your stories on our Facebook page at facebook.com/holyhereticzine
