HOLY HERETIC DEVOTIONAL-Dec. 13, 2016-THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR THEM IN THE INN

Compiled by Mercy Junction Pastor Brian Merritt

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.
Christina Rosetti

What do you give to the one who saves you? You give him your life. This is what Christina Rosetti wants us to know. It is really not about what you have, but that there is not enough gratitude in this world to show toward the one who saves us. We are called to live a full life, that means giving our life in service to others. In this season of hope we should remember that every beat of our heart should be toward the life giving service that we are called.

Today’s Action: Hold your hand over your heart and feel it beating. What does this beating mean to you?

Sharing: What does it mean to be in service to others? We would love to hear what service means to you.
