MLKing Interfaith Celebration is Tuesday

For the second year, Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center will host the interfaith celebration that is part of the Unity Group of Chattanooga’s week-long celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life.

The interfaith celebration will begin at 7 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 10 in the sanctuary at the center.

Other events throughout the week, include:

— Thursday, Jan. 12, 7 pm: Community Forum  moderated by Bro. Kevin Muhammad at Eastdale Village Community United Methodist Church · 1403 Tunnel Blvd.

— Friday, Jan. 13, 7 pm: PowerNomics and Dr. Claud Anderson – on Empowering the Black Community (tickets $10), co-sponsored by Sankofa Fund for Civic Engagement at New Monumental Baptist Church · 901 Woodmore Lane

— Saturday, Jan. 14, 9 am: Prayer Breakfast with Ana García-Ashley of Gamaliel (tickets $25) at Second Missionary Baptist Church · 2305 East 3rd Street

— Monday, Jan. 16, 4 pm: Martin Luther King Day March & Main Program · lineup 3:15 at MLK Blvd & Peeples Street

— Monday, Jan. 16, 5pm: keynote Dr Charles Steele Jr, SCLC Southern Christian Leadership Conference at The Tivoli Theatre · 709 Broad Street

The celebration week is sponsored by the Unity Group of Chattanooga.
